This hook is very strong...

I love forging horse heads , this one is made from a new horseshoe and ends with a hook.

This very decorative and original horse head hook starts out as a horseshoe that I cut in half, the head is then formed on the anvil at an orange / yellow heat using only the hand hammer and anvil.

Once the head is formed, I add details with personal hand made punches, eye punch, nostril punch, mouth and ear punch. The hair is made with a cross pein hammer driven into the hot metal.

Beneath the hair, I hot punch my logo signature "Naz" in the metal.

For the hook end, I form a smooth curve upwards and the natural round end of the horseshoe gives it a nice finish.


I then drill 2 holes to accomodate screws for wall hanging.(The screw holes are drilled over 2 of the existing "nail" holes.

I put a lot of importance in cleaning each hook after it has been hammered, bent into shape, and "in and out" of the fire numerous times...I acheive the clean look you see in the photos by using the wire wheel and sandpaper, this leaves each hook with a clean attractive look that is perfect for gift giving...

Makes a great gift for yourself or someone who loves horses.

Total height is approximately 5".

Included are 2 decorative wood screws that match perfectly with the ironwork.
