If anything will make a statement upon arrival of your guests, this blacksmith forged and signed coat rack sculpture will.

First, let's talk about the dragon's head, it starts out as 5/8" solid round stock iron and comes to life on the anvil under the hammer blows at a yellow/orange heat (Approximately 2000 degrees). Details are then added using handmade punches (eye punch, nostril punch, etc...).

After the head is complete, it's back to the fire to heat and form the body of the dragon with smooth curves and 2 loops of different diameters, all done hot and freehand.
To finish the dragon, I form a pointy tail and also work curves into it

The wings are braught to an orange heat in the forge and hammered all around to give them texture and match the hand forged dragon.
Last step on the wings is my signature logo "Naz" stamped in copper then fixed with 2 hammered brass rivets. The natural colors of these three different metals together add a nice touch and at the same time confirms the authenticity of this handmade item.

Next, I forge six hooks and fix them to each point of the dragon's wings with hand hammered rivets, the old way...
Time to join the dragon to it's wings. I use 2 large iron rivet and hand hammer them from behind, again the old way.
(Once everything is in place, I weld all parts together from the back for extra strenght and to keep everything looking clean)

There is not 1 inch that hasen't been hammered or bent or worked hot in some way.

For cleaning, I use the wire brush followed by a light sand paper. This highlights the hammer marks.
For protection I brush on two coats of Renaissance wax which is a high quality wax used in museums worldwide on armory, swords, precious metals, etc... .

This signed metal sculpture is a highly decorative and functional piece of art that you will own for the rest of your life.

Measurements are approximately 27" high (the hoops & bends play a big part in determining the final height so it is possible that it ends up being a few inches longer or shorter ) and 30" wide.

Included are 6 decorative wood screws that match the ironwork.

Made strong to last long !
