Forged in fire, this large cross pendant measures approximately 3" high x 1-1/2" wide...
I use 2 pieces of solid 1/4" x 1/4" square bar, heat them up in the forge, give them a "real" hammered texture and hammer them "in" together, this creates a "bulge" at the touching point, two spot welds are added from behind and cleaned smooth ... I then add a hammered brass rivet...
Each one is unique.
A long "strong" decorative chain is attached on a jump ring that holds the cross...
(The chain is 27" long, if you would like it shorter or longer you can leave a message at the "note to seller" during checkout and I will adjust the length for you... There is no "clasp" on the chain since it is long enough to "slip" on, if you want the chain shorter and need a clasp attachment in the back please mention this at the "note to seller" also)...
Finishing options :
During checkout, you will have to choose between "Black & Grey" or "Light Grey", please refer to the last photo for reference...
1- Black & Grey : After it has been hammered, bent into shape, and "in and out" of the fire numerous times, the cross comes out a dark black, I then use sandpaper to highlight the hammer marks but the deeper marks stay darker and gives a nice "2 tone" effect.
2- Light Grey : The hammered cross is wire wheeled to a uniform light grey.
Both options are treated with a protective clear coat, this leaves each item with a clean attractive look that is perfect for gift giving...
