DRAGON DOOR KNOCKER 6" Wide Wingspan Sculpture Hand Forged and Signed by Blacksmith Naz - Metal Sculptures - Entry Door Decoration

Blacksmith forged, this unique and functional piece of wall (door) art will be a conversation striker with all your guests.

The dragon’s head is made from 5/16" solid square stock iron and comes to life on the anvil under the hammer blows at a yellow/orange heat. Details are then added using hand punches (eye punch, nostril punch, etc...).

After the head is complete, it's back to the fire to heat and form the body with long smooth curves and I finish with an elegant scroll at the base of the dragon that serves as a handle, this gives a nice weight on the lower section of the dragon resulting in a nice pivoting (knocking) action when the knocker is used.

The wings are hammered all around to give them texture and match the hand forged dragon.

I drill a hole in the dragon's neck to insert the pivot pin so it moves freely allowing the dragon's whole body to rock back and forth in a knocking motion.
The pivot pin is hammered in place, trapping it in the bracket which is welded to the wings... The wings are secured to the door (or wall) with 4 screws.

The back plate is a piece of thick bar that has been cut in the shape of a diamond and measures 3-1/4" high by 2-1/8" wide. It has been hammered all around , this plate is fixed to the door (or wall) with 2 screws.


The dragon's stands approximately9.75" tall and the wings are approximately 6" wide.

I put a lot of importance in cleaning each item after it has been hammered, bent into shape, and "in and out" of the fire numerous times.. Each dragon door knocker is finished with a clean attractive look that is perfect for gift giving...

After cleaning, I clear coat the door knocker for protection and to keep the raw iron look.


Included are 6 decorative wood screws that match the ironwork.


This signed metal sculpture is a highly decorative and functional piece of art that will last more than a few lifetimes.
